In Gedenken an den verstorbenen Tenor Luciano Pavarotti haben sich in der jordanischen Felsenstadt Petra am 11. und 12. Oktober 2008 eine Reihe ganz unterschiedlicher Musiker zusammengefunden, darunter seine ehemaligen Weggefährten Plácido Domingo und José Carreras, aber auch Andrea Bocelli, Sting und viele weitere.
